Auraria Campus Spring Fling ERS
will be represented at the annual Spring Fling. The two day event is
scheduled for Wednesday, April 22nd and Thursday, April 23rd, 2009. The
event will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day on the new platform
between the Plaza and the Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria Campus.
More Coats Needed
The Coats For Colorado distribution helped, but
we still need more, especially coats for children. With the
weather getting colder the children that recently arrived from warm
countries are experiencing our harsh Colorado winter. Please help in
gathering coats of all sizes for these kids. We still can use adult
coats as well, any size. They may be dropped off at our office Mon to
Fri 9 to 5.
Your Donations Needed to Help Refugee School
Children
ERS is accepting donation of school supplies
as well as backpacks for the newly arriving refugee children.
We always accept cash donations from those people who are unable or
don't have time to purchase these school supplies and other needed items
- volunteers will do it for you. This can be a tax write off for anyone
requesting a tax
form. Contact Genevieve Cruz
at 303-860-0128 x1112 if you need your donation items to be picked
up and delivered to the children.
Volunteers
Needed
Ecumenical
Refugee and Immigration Services is looking for Volunteers
to help with various tasks but mostly with a once a month Food Bank
distribution. The distribution is held on the third or fourth Thursday
of the month depending on how it falls. This project is designed to aid
our Refugees who have not yet received food stamps, due to a 45-day
waiting period. I encourage all
interested parties to get involved. This can be a group of
people or just an individual with free time on their hands. Take note,
this job involves some lifting, boxes of food but mostly canned goods
etc.
The
hours will be from 1:30 TO 4:30 P.M. Please contact Genevieve Cruz at
303-860-0128x1112
